TO STUDY THE ATTITUDE OF GRADUATE LEVEL STUDENTS TOWARDS MODERNIZATION

Abstract

The present research study is confined to study the attitude of graduate level students of Dehradun City towards Modernization. Positive attitude towards modernization is helpful in the development of society and nation.

To know the attitude of students towards modernization, 400 students from different 8 colleges of Dehradun were selected randomly. The Modernization scale developed by R.S. Singh, A.N. Tripathi and Ramjee Lal was used to know their attitude towards modernization. The purpose of study is to compare the attitude of Male and female graduate students towards modernization and also the comparison of attitude of students stream wise (SCIENCE AND ART), region wise and family type wise. Statistical techniques like mean, standard deviation and t test were used. Results are that there is difference in attitude of male and female graduates, Science and arts graduates, rural and urban area graduates and graduates of single and combined family. There is no significant difference exist in the attitude of male and female graduate students of single family as well as combined family.
