Abstract

Dengue is an ancient disease, being recognized in Asian medical texts of antiquity. According to a historical survey of the Pan American Health Organization, Dengue could have manifested itself for the first time, in the Americas in 1635. Since the first outbreaks, were described almost simultaneously in Asia, Africa and America between 1779 and 178¹.
