Abstract

This study aims to explore the relationship between Human Resource (HR) policies and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) among a sample of 75 bank employees in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The research objectives include studying the influence of demographic variables on OCB and analysing the impact of HR policies on employees' citizenship behaviour. The study utilizes a sample size of 75 employees from diverse banks, employing a range of demographic variables to investigate their potential influence on OCB. Additionally, the research delves into the role of HR policies in shaping employees' organizational citizenship behaviour. Understanding these dynamics is crucial for organizations seeking to enhance workplace culture, teamwork, and overall effectiveness through strategic HR interventions. By addressing these research objectives, the study aims to contribute valuable insights into the nuanced interplay between demographic factors, HR policies, and the manifestation of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour. The findings have the potential to inform HR practices, enabling organizations to tailor policies that foster a positive work environment and encourage employees to go above and beyond their formal roles. As organizations increasingly recognize the significance of employee behaviour beyond job descriptions, this study provides timely and relevant insights into the factors shaping such behaviours within the banking sector in Ahmedabad.
