IMPORTANCE OF DHATU IN NIDAN (DIAGNOSIS )

The science of Ayurveda originated with the need to understand and cure diseases and to maintain health for human being. The main aim of Ayurveda is “स्वस्थ्स्य स्वास्थ्यरक्षणम आतुरस्य विकारप्रशमनम “. For vikara prashamana we do treatment of disease and for fruitful treatment first and foremost thing is diagnosis(nidan). so,correct diagnosis of a disease is essential for effective treatment,management and curing diseases.
Ayurveda too focus on these aspects and it is described in detail in “Rognidan and vikriti vijnan”. Roga means ‘rogastu dosha vaishamyam’ which means imbalance of dosha and vikriti means ‘vikaro dhatu vaishamyam’ which means imbalance of dhatu.The word swastha means health and well-being and according to Ayurveda it is equilibrium of Dosha,Dhatu,Agni and Mala.(su.su.15). Therefore,the examination of dhatu is an essential part of diagnosis. So, dhatu is important in diagnosis and treatment of any disease. The imbalance of any of the dhatu can lead to various health issues.
So, here we are going to understand importance of dhatu as well as dhatu vishamta
in various disease.
