A SINGLE CASE STUDY – AGNIKARMA IN GANGLION CYST(GRANTHI ROGA)

Granthi roga is caused by vitiated kaphadosa. Symptoms of ganglion cyst is correlated with granthi roga. According to Acharya sushruta, granthi roga is treated by agnikarma ( Su. Su. 12/10)Also According to Acharya Sushruta, Agnikarma is superior-para surgical procedure in ayurveda, as a disease treated by its usually did not relapse( Su. Su. 12/3)
In this case 35 years old female patient visited in out-patient department of Shalya Tantra having complaints of non-inflammatory cystic swelling present near a joint, medial aspect at the end of left little finger with mild pain and tenderness since 10 years. The swelling was gradually increasing in size. 7 years back she has been treated with oral medication and through aspiration for same complaint. Patient had again recurrence.So she consulted to ayurvedic hospital for better management.
Ganglion cyst (Granthi) is vitiated by kapha dosa. So Agnikarma procedure is superior para-surgical procedure in kapha dosa disease. After treatment, Ganglion cyst was completely cure without any scar after 5 weeks. Patient had no recurrence. This case demonstrates the advantages of Agnikarma in recurrence case of small ganglion cyst.
