RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PERSONALITY TRAITS AND TEACHING COMPETENCY OF B.ED TRAINEES

The main objectives of the study were to find out the level of personality traits and teaching competency of B.Ed trainees; and to find the relationship between personality traits and teaching competency of B.Ed trainees. The sample consists of 987 B.Ed trainees randomly selected from 18 colleges of Education from Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari districts of Tamil Nadu. Multidimensional Personality Inventory developed by Manjurani Aggarwal and Teaching Competency scale developed by Sheeja V. Titus were used as tool to collect the data. The research reveals that the level of personality traits and teaching competency of B.Ed trainees was moderate. Significant relationship found between personality traits and teaching competency of B.Ed trainees.
